Why are my SignUp Links not working in my e-Newsletter? They are going to a past SignUp.

Troubleshooting SignUp Links

  • If your SignUp link isn’t working, first try copying and pasting it directly into your browser. Keep in mind that links are CaSe SenSitIve.
  • If the link is going to an older SignUp, please alert the SignUp Organizer that the hyperlink is outdated.

Sending SignUp Links via Email Newsletters (Constant Contact, MailChimp, etc.)

To ensure SignUp links work correctly in email newsletters, you need to hyperlink them so the email system recognizes them as active links. Most modern email programs and smartphones automatically hyperlink URLs starting with "http://", though some add extra characters which cause issues.

How to Add a Clickable SignUp Link

1. Text Format (e.g., http://signup/go/ABcXyZ)

  • Paste the link into your message.
  • Highlight it and click the hyperlink icon (usually a chain or globe).
  • In the pop-up, paste the same link into the URL field and save.

2. HTML SignUp Button

  • Switch your email editor from Rich Text to HTML Source Code view (look for an “HTML” or “< >” button).
  • In Rich Text view, add placeholder text (e.g., **" ** ") where you want the button.
  • Switch to HTML view, find your placeholder, and paste the button code. Double check that you copy/pasted the entire code string.
  • Save and return to Rich Text view to see the button appear, automatically linked.

Get the button code for your SignUp in the Invite tab of your SignUp's Organizer view. It looks like this:

This should ensure your SignUp links work smoothly for your recipients! 🚀
