Tracking No-Shows and Drop-In Hours
To record that a Participant did not show up for their commitment, simply remove their assignment from the SignUp. This ensures their absence is not included in their summary of hours. For step-by-step instructions, see: How can the organizer delete a participant assignment?
If you need to track hours for drop-in Participants, you can manually add an assignment to the past date. This allows you to account for their hours even if they weren’t originally scheduled. For guidance, see: How can I add an assignment for a participant or volunteer?
If no Spots were previously planned on a past date, click the Create new Spot button in the upper-right corner of the Spots tab to add the Spot. Be sure to update the default date, which is set to today’s date. Once you've added the Spot, you can make a manual assignment for the Participant on that past date.
Note: SignUp automatically tracks service hours for To-Do items (jobs, shifts, tasks) that include both a Start and End Time. If an item only has a Start Time, it defaults to one hour of service.
